Its really time to Speak Up people!

Hi everyone,

As I was preparing for my early birthday dinner with my husband I decided to scroll through the channels and it awesome to see the cartoons for a minute. YES, YES...don't remind me, I know my age but for a moment I loved watching the funny cartoons on TV and getting a glimpse of the childhood phenomenon for a second. And the chance to forget about ridiculous adult junk! Back to the story right, you're probably wondering where I'm going with this. I found that Cartoon Network has actually started a campaign to SPEAK UP against Bullying and has been doing this for Years. BRAVO CARTOON NETWORK for leading the charge against bullying and Speaking Up against Violence to others! We will definitely be joining you on your charge and quest to SPEAK UP!

JUNE IS STOP BULLYING AND CYBERBULLYING MONTH

So, Let's going Cartoon Network
and
 SPEAK UP!!!

How can we encourage our kids and REMEMBER TO LISTEN!

As parents it is so difficult to know if our children are having trouble at school with grades, teachers or even lunch money let alone being bullied. Keeping an open line of communication and making our child always feel that they can come to us with any and all situations without them feeling that mom and dad won't go; (as they say -BALLISTIC), is a reassurance that we as parents can handle any and all situations with a cool and level head is a reassurance to them.
Our responsibility is to KEEP them safe but also to MAKE them feel safe and not overwhelmed them especially about the situation.
Great example of this was Issac Irvine and his wonderful son Brodi; Brodi was being bullied at school for growing his hair out to help a unique cause and being called a girl by two mischievous and unkind boys. Issac Irvine an amazing father made an awesome video to not only help encourage Brodi but to show others that bullying is just not okay.
The parenting style of this father is unique and amazing to say the least, HE WINS AN A+ IN MY BOOK. To not only diffuse the situation in Brodi but to uplift, encourage and love him and many others out there has created this video a huge phenomenon of HOPE.

It's all about how we communicate to our children,
REMEMBER THEY WILL LISTEN!

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

www.mentalhealthamerica.net
Has this to say about sexual assault awareness》》》》
⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇

WHAT IS SEXUAL ASSAULT?
Sexual assault refers to sexual behavior that occurs without the clear consent of the victim. According to the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN), this includes:

* Attempted rape;
* Fondling or unwanted sexual touching;
* Forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, such as oral sex or penetrating the perpetrator's body; and
* Penetration of the victim's body (rape)

It's important to note that force does not just mean physical force, but includes manipulation, coercion, threats, and situations where a person is unable to give consent.
♢ Sexual violence is never the victim's fault.

How common is sexual assault?
☆1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men report experiencing an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.

How does sexual assault impact mental health?
Sexual assault can have a variety of short- and long-term effects on a victim's mental health. Many survivors report flashbacks of their assault, and feelings of shame, isolation, shock, confusion, and guilt. People who were victims of rape or sexual assault are at an increased risk for developing:
• Depression
• PTSD
• Substance Use Disorders
• Eating Disorders
• Anxiety
Having a previous history of being a victim and negative reactions from family, friends, and professionals worsen the impact of sexual violence on mental health.
Because sexual trauma can have such a serious impact on mental health, it's important that services and supports consider and address the trauma that many individuals have experienced.
If you have concerns about your mental health, take a mental health screen.

AS WE PROGRESS IN OUR VIRTUAL WORLD, ARE WE LOSING OUR HUMANITY?

Hello everyone as we progress with the virtual reality of this world and the GO-GO of the movement generation its becoming apparently clear that we all move so fast we lose touch with one another. Truly as I have with all of you I have lost touch and with that I must APOLOGIZE.
This world is a set of digits, numbers, sets and slides that we have forgotten what is really important to us (family, friends, co-workers, students, teachers, Pastors and those close to us).
Our children and even some of us live in such an imaginary state of mind with our phones, that all we do is look at what is next on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snap Chat, and little by little lose some of our humanity for one another. Our kids have become so numb to the world around them and totally incoherent to the noise of pain and suffering because all they have seen is pain, noise, violence and confusion! So all they know to do is cause more pain, more violence, more noise and definitely in their minds is confusion. They want to be caught in the middle of everything because they have been programmed by social media that, that is the cool thing to do and to be. If you are not hurting and to be hurt and being the center of attention and getting the most HITS on social media you're not the IT person!!
It has twisted our young people into victims of their own state of abusive delusion.
That delusion has set an abusive pattern that has set a stream of many videos of suicide, cyber-bullying, caught on tape fights in bathrooms, teachers hurt by students and vise versa, brawl fights with girls and boys and many unforeseen cry-outs by parents for children and about children. This world is crying out for our kids! So what are we parents to do?

Unfortunately until we gather together as a nation to protect one another and our loved ones this kind of behaviour will continue. We must love, talk and seek to help one another and notice the signs immediately...BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!
Even
IF- your child is the BULLIED or the BULLIER
IF- they are the ACCUSED or the 1 NEEDING HELP
IF- The they are LOVED or the 1 SEEKING to be LOVED
THERE IS ALWAYS TIME!!!
PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND LISTEN.

If you are in need of help, need someone to listen or having problems at home, school or anywhere
OR
                 IF you are being ABUSED
or CYBER-BULLIED or BULLIED and need IMMEDIATE HELP
                      PLEASE CALL!!
1-800-420-1479
or
1-800-273-TALK (8255)
OR CALL 911
DON'T WAIT!!
